Glenview's Lofstrom Had 'Ability To Make All Feel Loved'

GLENVIEW, IL — Jack A. Lofstrom, 84, of Glenview, son of the late Roy and Helen Lofstrom, died July 21.

He was the beloved husband for 60 years of Audrey Lofstrom (nee Gwosden); loving father of Mark (Barbara) Lofstrom, Jeff Lofstrom and Rebecca Lofstrom (James Tausche); cherished grandfather of Kristen (Steve) Middlecamp, Eric Lofstrom and Jake Tausche; proud great grandfather of Emma and Reid Middlecamp; dear brother of Carl (Haeyoung) Lofstrom, Joan Brown, and the late Doris Giles; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; and his pet dog, Charlie, according to his obituary from N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home.

Lofstrom graduated from McKeesport High School in McKeesport, PA, and was a graduate of Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio. Jack, a 2015 Muskingum Hall of Fame inductee for football, was an Associated Press Little All-American, two-year team captain, and 4-year letter winner. He was a member of the 1955 undefeated Ohio Athletic Conference Championship team and was invited for a free-agent tryout with the Cleveland Browns.

Jack worked as a steel salesman for LTV Steel Corporation and later was a custom home builder. As a young family man, he devoted time to teaching Sunday school at The Village Presbyterian Church and coaching youth sports. Jack is best known for his positivity, strength, strong faith, devotion to family, and the ability to make all feel loved.

Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at The Village Presbyterian Church of Northbrook, 1300 Shermer Road, Northbrook. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Funeral information 847-998-1020.
