GLENVIEW, IL — Following an estimated $2.5 million renovation, a 10-screen movie theater is set to open Friday, Nov. 18, at The Glen Town Center. Housed at the former sight of ArcLight Cinemas, the property is now owned by Landmark Theatres. Opening weekend will feature "Black Panther," "Ticket To Paradise," and "She Said," among other movies.

"We've appreciated our collaboration with the City of Glenview, Oliver McMillan, and The Glen Town Center in making this opening possible," Landmark Theatres President Kevin Holloway said in a news release. The development agreement includes $3.5 million to reimburse tenant and building improvement costs using existing Glen TIF funds that have been designated for the purpose of economic development and infrastructure improvements, according to the Village. The move followed public feedback stemming from the Glenview Connect process.

"The Glenview Connect process was all about listening to the community regarding their vision for Glenview, and there was overwhelming support to keep a movie theater in The Glen Town Center," Glenview Village President Mike Jenny said. "The presence of a movie theater supports the vibrancy of the area, the nearby restaurants and the overall shopping center experience at the Glen."

The theater is located at 1850 Tower Drive in the upscale Glenview Town Center, the site of the former Glenview Naval Air Station, which features the original air traffic tower as its centerpiece. It was originally built in 2003.
