Man Demands Female Associates, Yells At Manager: Glenview PD Blotter

The person left prior to the arrival of police, and officers were unable to make contact with them to for a trespass warning.

ARRESTS

NO VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE

Olovuddin Abdikakharov, 27, of the 700 block of W. Algonquin Road, Des Plaines, is accused of no valid driver's license, suspended registration, no insurance, and was arrested at 2:38 p.m. June 3, following a traffic crash investigation in the 1700 block of East Lake Avenue. He was released and assigned a court date of July 11.

FAILURE TO GIVE NOTICE AFTER STRIKING UNATTENDED VEHICLE/PROPERTY

Rich Felt, 57, of the 600 block of Chatham Road, is accused of failure to give notice after striking an unattended vehicle/property, and was arrested at 10:22 a.m. June 3, following a hit-and-run investigation in the 600 block of Chatham Road. He was released and assigned a court date of July 11.

FAILURE TO APPEAR

Michael Elliot, 49, of the 1600 block of Winnetka Road, had a warrant out of Lake County for failure to appear, and was arrested at 5:46 a.m. June 2.

FLEEING/ATTEMPTING TO ELUDE POLICE

Constantine Mikuzis, 47, of the 2100 block of Valley Lo Lane, is accused of fleeing/attempting to elude police, no valid driver's license, and was arrested at 8:30 a.m. May 29, at the Glenview Police Department following an investigati0on into an incident that occurred on April 12 in the 1300 block of Waukegan Road. He was released and assigned a court date of July 11.

INCIDENTS

BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE

  • A resident in the 1000 block of Castilian Court reported that between May 18 and May 28, someone removed the catalytic converter from their vehicle that was parked on the south side of the parking lot.
  • A citizen called police on June 3 to report that during the overnight hours of May 28, someone removed the catalytic converter from their vehicle while it was parked overnight in a lot in the 1000 block of Castilian Court. Estimated damage/loss is $450.

IDENTITY THEFT

  • A Shermer Road resident reported at 3:09 p.m. May 28, receiving a call from someone pretending to be Apple support. Throughout a several hour-long phone call, the unknown female was able to transfer $10,000 to the resident's Apple Wallet, which was then spent on several transactions in and around New York City. The resident provided them their personal information but does not know where the funds came from.
  • A Shermer Road resident reported at 2:13 p.m June 4, receiving a phone call from a male identifying himself as Johnathon, who instructed them to purchase gift cards using a ruse about the Ukraine War and a warrant out for their arrest. They gave him the last four numbers of their social security card and allowed them to have remote access to their computer. They gave the numbers to Johnathon for a $500 Target gift card before realizing it was a scam.

BATTERY

  • An Oak Lawn resident called police at 7:30 p.m. May 28, to report that after attending a school board hearing at Glenbrook South High School, 4000 West Lake Avenue, they were followed outside by a Chicago resident that began filming them with a cell phone when they left the auditorium. They pushed the cell phone away and told them to stop harassing them, which the Chicago resident responded by spitting in their face.
  • An employee of a business in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 10:18 p.m. May 28, to report a Texas resident was banging on doors throughout the business, disturbing other customers. They saw them throw a trash can out of the room, striking the door across the hall. They told them to be quiet, and the customer grabbed their arm and appeared as though they would strike them with a fist, before another patron entered the hallway to tell them to stop. The customer left the scene prior to police arrival. No complaints to be signed.

STOLEN VEHICLE

A resident in the 3200 block of Greenbriar Drive called police at 11:24 a.m. May 29, to report someone took their vehicle from their driveway overnight. A neighbor's camera showed the vehicle was taken between 2:53 a.m. and 3:53 a.m. The key was left inside the vehicle.

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee of a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road called police at on May 29 to report that while reviewing surveillance from the day before, they saw a known repeat offender put 40 bottles of liquor in a Whole Foods shopping cart and leave the store without paying for the items between 7:15 p.m. and 7:33 p.m. The person entered a black, unknown model SUV. Total loss is $1,350.
  • An employee of a business in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard called police on May 30 to report that while viewing store surveillance that showed a previous person entering the store on May 24, pushing a green Whole Foods rolling bag. They put 15 bottles of liquor in the bag and left out of the store without paying for the items. At 17:12 p.m., they entered the store again with an empty rolling bag and filled it with 12 bottles of liquor. They left the store without paying for the items. Total loss is $1,320.73.

FORGERY

A Chatham Road resident reported on May 30, a check they wrote was altered to a different payee in the amount of $4,662 and their signature was changed. The original check was written on April 16 to CMS Medicare in the amount of $33.33, which they put in their mailbox for the mail carrier to pick up. The check had been cashed at an unknown PNC Bank on May 21.

AGGRAVATED INSURANCE FRAUD

An employee of a business in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 12:16 p.m. May 30, to report 156 checks had payees to deceased individuals altered in their system to be sent to a Chicago resident, who is related to an employee. The total amount for the altered checks is $431,519.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

  • A resident in the 1600 block of Greenwood Road called police at 6:26 p.m. May 31, to report an unknown man claiming to have rented it through Airbnb. The unknown male presented a confirmation through Airbnb for the stay. The male understood there was a mistake, and the property was not for rent. The resident advised they have never listed their property for rent and over the last six months, four other people have come claiming to have rented it on Airbnb.
  • A resident in the 4000 block of Crestwood Drive reported at 7:24 a.m. June 1, an Amazon driver delivered a package to their home at approximately 4:30 a.m. After delivering the package, the driver appeared to take a photograph of the door and reach for the door handle before walking away.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

A resident in the 3000 block of Springdale Avenue called police at 10:02 p.m. May 31, to report someone entered their vehicle and removed items from a purse while they were walking at Gallery Park, 2699 West Lake Ave. The resident explained they parked in the first lot, east of Patriot Boulevard, around 6 p.m. and returned thirty minutes later. Taken from a purse was a sim card, three credit cards and $80.

THEFT

  • The owner of a business in the 4200 block of Commercial Way reported at 7:39 p.m. May 31, a theft of a product. They completed an order on May 30, and it was shipped to a logistics company in Columbus, Ohio. They became suspicious of the buyer after speaking with him and learning the person with their real name did not place the order. Estimated loss is $83,110.51.
  • An employee of a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported that at 6:53 p.m. June 3, someone recognized from previous thefts entered the store pulling a Whole Foods rolling bag and went to the liquor aisle. The person took approximately 19 bottles of liquor off the shelves and put them in the bag, leaving the store without paying for the items. At 7:11 p.m., they entered the store again with the bag empty and took another 20 bottles of liquor, leaving the store without paying for the items. Total loss is approximately $1,440.62.
  • A Revere Road resident called police on June 4 to report they had left their bicycle unlocked at 7:15 p.m. near the bicycle racks outside Dick's Sporting Goods, 1900 Tower Drive. They returned to the racks at 7:55 p.m. and the bicycle was gone. Total loss is $350.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO VEHICLE

A resident in the 1200 block of Hawthorne Lane reported at 7:37 a.m. June 3, someone had pulled on their vehicle's door handle around 2:42 a.m. hours while it was parked on the driveway. The door was locked and the male quickly left.

TRESPASS WARNING

The manager of a business in the 300 block of Waukegan Road called police at 2:18 p.m. June 3, to report a customer had only wanted to work with female associates and did not have enough money to purchase a product. They were told to leave the business and then began yelling at the manager. The person left prior to officer arrival, and officers were unable to make contact with them to give them a trespass warning.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

A resident in the 400 block of Washington Road reported at 5:22 p.m. June 3, an unknown male driving a black SUV knocked on their door and asked to see a tree in the backyard. They locked the storm door but left the front door open. They spoke with the male in the backyard and when they returned to the house, they saw the bedroom light on and all their jewelry missing from the dresser. Estimated loss is approximately $15,000.
