Man Slaps Customer In Buttocks At Business: Glenview Police Blotter

Video surveillance confirmed the battery took place at a business in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road.

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Marco A. Arce Hinojosa, 32, of the 100 block of Lotus Avenue, Wauconda, is accused of driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, possession of a suspended license, illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane usage, and was arrested at 9:09 p.m. April 11 in the 3200 block of East Lake Avenue. He was released and assigned a court date of May 15.

RETAIL THEFT
Alexus Peterson, 28, of the 3500 block of Birdsall Street, Blue Island, had a warrant out of Glenview for retail theft and was arrested at 5:55 a.m. April 15 by the Blue Island Police Department. She was taken to Glenview for processing, and was then held in custody pending transport to a Maybrook courthouse for an unrelated out-of-state arrest warrant.

VIOLATION OF AN ORDER OF PROTECTION

Josie Haritos, 49, of the 2600 block of Lehigh Avenue, is accused of violation of an order of protection, and was arrested at 1:09 a.m. April 12, following the investigation of an incident at a business in the 2600 block of Lehigh Avenue.

LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT

Brian Clinkunbroomer, 53, of the 200 block of Woodland Drive, Mount Prospect, is accused of leaving the scene of an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested April 8 following an investigation into an accident that occurred in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Avenue on Jan. 31. He was released and assigned a court date of May 15.

CRIMINAL SEXUAL ABUSE

Bruce Claver, 59, of the 3000 block of Knollwood Lane, Glenview, was taken into custody at 11:30 a.m. April 9, at the Cook County Jail and charged with one count of criminal sexual abuse. The new charge follows an investigation into content found previously. He was processed and turned back over to the Cook County Sheriff's Office. INCIDENTS

FIRE ASSIST

  • Police assisted the Glenview Fire Department following a report of a small fire in a garbage can at 5:56 p.m. April 9, in the area of Dewes and Washington streets. Police said it appeared a cardboard box that had been next to the garbage can had been the source of the fire, but its contents were undetermined.
  • Police assisted the Glenview Fire Department on a dumpster fire at 6:38 p.m. April 9, at a business in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard. Employees had extinguished the fire prior to arrival. They said they had not seen anyone in the area prior to the fire and nothing appeared suspicious.

IDENTITY THEFT

  • A Nordica Avenue resident reported at 12:02 p.m. April 10, they had checked their credit report and discovered an unknown offender used their identifying information to open an AT&T Account. The AT&T account had an outstanding balance of $1,140. They notified AT&T about the fraudulent account.
  • A Greenfield Drive resident reported at 6:39 p.m. April 10, someone had opened a bank account at Go 2 Bank using their identifying information. Police said there was no financial loss at the time of the report.
  • A Dewes Street resident called police at 1:22 p.m. April 14, to report someone opened two phone lines using their information through AT&T.

RETAIL THEFT

The employees of a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported at 2:50 p.m. April 10, two males and a female had stolen a large amount of merchandise and left the store in a blue Chevrolet Sonic sedan. While leaving the store, the trio backed into the front of another customer's vehicle and fled the scene.

SUSPENDED/REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE

A Cincinnati, Ohio resident was cited at 8:54 p.m. April 1o, for driving while license suspended, prohibited use of an electronic communication device, following a traffic stop in the 3400 block of Milwaukee Avenue. They were released and assigned a court date of May 15.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY

Police responded to a business in the 800 Milwaukee Avenue at 2:07 a.m. April 11, and found that someone had shattered the front glass door and attempted to steal an ATM. The ATM was damaged in the process. Video surveillance footage showed three males arrive in a white Infiniti sedan.

THEFT

  • A Chicago resident reported on April 12 that the front license plate of their car had been stolen on March 13 while it was parked in the commuter train station parking spots along Lehigh Avenue.
  • Employees of a business in the 2100 block of Willow Road reported at 2:45 p.m. April 15, two accounts had been used to cash multiple bad checks at the drive-thru window between March 27 and March 28. Both accounts have different business names, but share a common address. Multiple checks were also cashed in other jurisdictions. Total loss is $33,950.
  • A resident in the 900 block of Buccaneer Drive reported on April 15 that an antique chest was taken from the front of the garage while it was outside on the previous day. A nest camera showed a male, who was driving a grey sedan, remove the item at 6:50 p.m. The chest is valued at $8,000.

BATTERY

A Foxboro, Massachusetts resident reported that while they were at a business in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road at 11:44 a.m. April 12, a male had slapped them on the buttocks. Video surveillance confirmed the incident.

FLEEING/ELUDING

Police initiated a well-being check at 11:57 p.m. April 12, on a driver who was asleep in a vehicle on Waukegan Road and East Lake Ave at the light. Officers knocked on the window to wake the driver. When the driver woke up, they waved as they slowly started pulling away. Officers ordered the driver to stop and put the car in park, but they ignored officers. The driver continued to look and wave at officers as they sped up and fled north through the intersection.

BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE

Employees of a business in the 1400 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 6:06 a.m. April 14, seeing a grey Nissan parked in the middle of an aisle, with two males wearing all black and ski masks next to a car. The employee yelled at the males and they quickly left the scene. Later, a patron of the business came to the police department to report the catalytic converter from their vehicle was stolen while it was parked in the lot.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

A resident in the 1400 block of Hollywood Avenue reported at 11:39 a.m. April 14, someone had entered their unlocked vehicle that had been parked on the driveway. The resident said $70 was missing from the center console.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

A resident of the 300 block of Harlem Avenue called police at 1:14 p.m. April 14, to report their vehicle had been taken from the residence without permission. The resident suspects an acquaintance that had been staying at the house.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

A Lake Barrington resident called police at 2:39 p.m. April 14, to report someone had keyed their car while it was parked in the Wildfire parking lot, 1300 Patriot Boulevard.

UNLAWFUL USE OF A WEAPON

A Streamwood resident reported at 2:29 p.m. April 15, someone was repairing a stop sign in the area of Bellwood Lane and Ralmark Lane. An unknown man, who was driving a red Chevrolet Silverado, reportedly drove up to him and asked him what he was doing. The man then told them that he better go and they saw the man was holding a handgun at the top of his stomach facing down. The man then said again that they should go away. The man did not threaten them with the gun.
