GRAYSLAKE, IL — Summer is almost over for Grayslake students. The first day of school in Community Consolidated School District 46 is Aug. 21 for students in grades first through eighth. The first day of kindergarten is Aug. 22.

Here are some of the important 2024-25 school year dates to get on the calendar:

• Start date for grades first through eighth: Aug. 21
• First day of kindergarten: Aug. 22
• First day of pre-kindergarten: Aug. 26
• Labor Day/no school: Sept. 2
• Rosh Hashanah/No School: Oct. 3
• No School: Oct. 14
• No School: Nov. 4-5
• Half Day: Nov. 26
• Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 27-29
• Winter Break: Dec. 23-Jan. 3
• No School: Jan. 20
• No School: Feb. 14-17
• Half Day/parent-teacher conferences in the afternoon: March 20
