FLOSSMOOR, IL — Two cars were stolen and one was burglarized in the same Flossmoor neighborhood Monday morning, police said.

According to officials, three men were able to get into five cars which were unlocked along the 2100 block of Marston Lane, 2000 block of Cummings Lane, 800 block of Latimer Lane and the 800 block of Travers Lane early Monday morning.

The men drove away with two of the cars, both of which had keys left inside the vehicle. One more car which was left unlocked had credit cards inside which police said the group used to purchase goods at south suburban Walmarts after the 3 a.m. burglary Monday.

Police said the trio might have been armed based on one surveillance camera video that shows a man holding what "appears to be a firearm" while he pulls on car door handles, officials said in a news release.

Police did not immediately respond to questions on why they believe the other two men were armed. Anyone living in the area where the cars were accessed is encouraged to submit surveillance footage to Flossmoor police.

If a resident encounters someone pulling on door handles, police said to call officers instead of engaging.
