Sauk Village Man Charged In Stabbing, Robbery At Homewood Mod Pizza

HOMEWOOD, IL — Police have identified and arrested the man accused of stabbing a woman at Mod Pizza in Homewood last week, officials said.

Police arrested 26-year-old Martez Price of Sauk Village Saturday. According to officials, Price is facing charges of attempted murder, robbery and criminal sexual abuse.

According to police, officers arrived at the 17631 South Halsted location Friday shortly after 10:30 a.m. and found a woman with stab wounds. The woman was taken to a local hospital but officers said the wounds seemed to be "non-life-threatening."

While in Mod Pizza Friday, prosecutors said Price took money from the cash register and slapped the woman's buttocks in addition to the stabbing.

As of Monday, police said the woman was recovering from her wounds.
