Gunman's Bullets Strike D'Arcy Motors On Essington Road: JPD

Anyone with video footage or information related to the shooting is urged to contact the Joliet Police Department investigations

JOLIET — The Joliet Police Department announced that it is investigating a shooting incident from a few days ago in which at least three of the automobiles at Mayor Terry D'Arcy's business, D'Arcy Hyundai, sustained gunshot damage.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, at 12:33 p.m. on Tuesday, Joliet police officers responded to D’Arcy Hyundai at 2000 Essington Road for a report of damage to vehicles on the lot.

Officers learned that three vehicles were struck by gunfire. The vehicles were unoccupied and parked in the southeast portion of the lot at the time of the shooting.

Officers conducted a canvass of the area and determined that the gunfire appeared to have originated away from the dealership property.

This incident is under active investigation. Anyone with video footage or information related to this shooting is encouraged to contact the Joliet Police Department Investigation Division at 815-724-3020.
