JOLIET — The number of gun crimes across Joliet dropped substantially last week, but that ended on Sunday night as someone pointed their gun at a house on the city's near west street and fired several bullets inside. One of the gunshots also hit a vehicle parked nearby.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, Sunday's shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. when officers responded to the 300 block of Lime Street for a report of shots fired. At the crime scene, the officers learned that a house was struck multiple times.

Two adults, a man and a woman, and were in the living room at the time of the shooting, but no injuries were reported, English said.
