New Joliet Restaurant Opens: Menu, Prices Revealed By Patch

JOLIET — This marks the first full week of business in Joliet for the new Carnitas Aguascalientes #2. The Chicago Ridge-based Mexican restaurant has expanded into Joliet, now giving it two locations. Although the new Joliet restaurant has a small seating area, most of the business is expected to come from takeout orders.

Representatives of Carnitas told Joliet Patch they plan to keep their new restaurant open seven days a week. The daily hours of operation are still being finalized and were not posted at the business. Carnitas is at 410 South Chicago Street, which is directly across the street from the Milano's Bakery along the busy Route 53 corridor.

Carnitas is in the same business plaza as the Tony's Auto Repair. The phone number to place carryout orders is 815-582-4906.

The menu features several flavors of tortas including sausage, barbacoa and torta tongue-lengua. The quesadillas include steak-asada, chicken-pollo, pork-pastor and sausage-chorizo.

The burritos, called burros, come in chicken-pollo, pork-pastor, steak-asada as well as barbacoa and tongue-lengua.

There are more than 10 different tacos, and Carnitas lists about 15 different Platillos, or dishes, on its menu ranging in price from $9.99 to $18.99 for the shrimp fajitas or the carne asada.
