Gas Price Update: Prices Down Around Mokena Heading Into Easter

MOKENA, IL — Mokena residents are getting a little relief at the pump with gas prices down heading into Easter weekend. The average price of gas in Illinois was at about $4.33 per gallon Friday, according to AAA. That's down 10 cents from a week ago.

In Will County, the average price for a gallon of gas was around a nickel under the state average on Friday at about $4.28 per gallon.

Nationally, the average gas price Sunday was about $4.07 per gallon. Illinois' gas prices ranked No. 8 in the lower 48 of the county. The Top 5 states in gas price averages Sunday were California at $5.71, Nevada at $5.08, Washington at $4.66, Oregon at $4.64 and Arizona at $4.57, according to AAA. Connecticut had the lowest national gas price average at $3.88.

Gas is actually cheaper Friday in Illinois than it was this time last month when it was $4.58.

But, if you know where to look, you can find cheaper gas prices throughout Will County.

According to GasBuddy, the cheapest gas in Will County Sunday was selling for $3.89 at Costco, 16261 S. Boulevard Place in Plainfield. Here are some other places you can save near Mokena:
