CYO Scholarships – Deadline June 30 – Apply Today

Chicago Youth Orchestra (CYO) located in Clarendon Hills, IL, provides opportunities for young musicians to showcase their skills and talents, and helps them to develop important life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and confidence.

CYO offers merit scholarships to students 7-18yrs old on all orchestral instruments that exhibit exceptional talent and potential on their instrument. All scholarship students must apply and audition each year for scholarship consideration. To apply for the CYO Merit Scholarship, students must complete an online registration form and submit a Merit Audition Video.

CYO also offers need-based financial aid to students 7-18 years old for an available orchestral instrument. To apply for financial aid, students must complete an online form with all applicable documents

The deadline to apply for both CYO merit scholarships and financial aid is June 30, 2023.

Chicago Youth Orchestra Auditions for Fall '23 –JUNE 25, JULY 9 2023

Chicago Youth Orchestra Auditions are open to all orchestral instruments, ages 7-18 years old and will be holding Auditions via Video Submission. This is a great opportunity for young musicians to join a dynamic ensemble and perform a wide range of music, from classical to contemporary. The Youth Orchestra provides a supportive and challenging environment where young musicians can grow and develop their musical skills.

* Instruments: All Strings, Winds, Brass, Percussion (including piano)

* Repertoire – One piece/movement – level appropriate (up to 5 min)

* Minimum of two years of instruction/playing experience on their instrument

Chamber Music Auditions for Fall '23 –JUNE 25, JULY 9 2023

AYSO Chamber Music Auditions are open to all orchestral instruments, ages 7-18yrs old and will be holding Auditions via Video Submission. This is a unique opportunity for young musicians to participate in small ensemble performances and develop their skills in chamber music. Chamber music provides a different type of musical experience compared to large ensembles, as it requires close collaboration and teamwork among the musicians.

Concerto Competition - Deadline – DECEMBER 18, 2023

The CYO Concerto Competition is open to all CYO students - December 18th. This competition provides an opportunity for young musicians to showcase their solo performance skills and compete for the chance to perform with the Chicago Youth Orchestra. This is a great way for young musicians to challenge themselves and further develop their performance skills.
