Therapy K9 Chloe Being Treated For Tumor: Northbrook Police Department

The police department is collecting "Get Well" cards for Chloe, who begins treatment Friday.

NORTHBROOK, IL — A special dog that provides therapy for others is in need of some herself. Chloe, therapy K9 for the Northbrook Police Department, is set to begin treatment Friday for a malignant mast cell tumor.

In a social media post, police said a small lump was found during a routine checkup for Chloe, who became the Northbrook Police Department's first therapy dog in 2021.

Police said Chloe will be out of service for four to six weeks. In the meantime, the department is collecting "Get Well" cards for its canine friend. Those looking to participate can do the following:

  • Create a card — get creative. Draw, write, or craft a card that expresses love and well wishes for Chloe.
  • Drop off cards at the Northbrook Police Department, 1401 Landwehr Road.
