Brittany Judge, RN, clinical lead of a cardiac unit, was selected as a 2023 Nurse of the Year for her exemplary demonstration of Advocate Health Care’s core nursing values and unwavering delivery of best-in-class care.

Jane Dus, Chief Nursing Officer of Advocate Health– Midwest Region shares, “Advocate Health nurses deliver exceptional, evidence-based and equitable care to help all patients live fully. However, it’s their ability to bring their most authentic selves to work each day that lets us bear witness to the compassionate and driven individuals they are. It is a true honor to celebrate this excellence in action.”

Judge, 32, is driven by a desire to learn and excel. She’s a well-rounded nurse who has worked in direct patient care, helped train others and served as a charge nurse. Her colleagues often turn to her for advice. She’s also active in Christ Medical Center’s Nursing Coordinating Council and Shared Governance, serving as chair and co-chair. She led a recent effort to raise funds for continued education of nurses and nursing research.

“We’re lucky to have Brittany on our team,” said Giancarlo Lyle-Edrosolo, Chief Nursing Officer at Christ. “Brittany is the kind of nurse who has many talents and is constantly striving for excellence.

“I also applaud her emphasis on helping other nurses,” Lyle-Edrosolo added. “This year, Brittany’s efforts sent more than 40 nurses to the annual Magnet conference, where they’ll learn and incorporate evidenced-based knowledge into their nursing practice for years to come. Brittany helped make that possible.”
