Reed was one of three men believed to be involved in the takeover robbery of Reichman Jewelers, 4439 W. 95th St., in the middle of the afternoon on July 1, 2022. Police said the three entered the jewelry store with guns drawn and disarmed the security guard. As the robbery continued, the store co-owner, Odyss Tsarouhis, emerged from the back room to see what the commotion was about, one of the robbers shot him twice in the wrist and chest.

The trio proceeded to smash the glass jewelry cases, removed jewelry and fled in a vehicle, police said. Tsarouhis was rushed to the hospital, in critical condition. The jewelry store owner has since recovered from his wounds.
