Back To School: Ridgeland Dist. 122 School Calendar 2024-2025
The first day of school for Ridgeland Dist. 122 students is Aug. 16. Here's all the dates you need to know for the new school year.
OAK LAWN, IL — There are just a few short weeks of summer left, until students head back to school this month. Back-to-school planning has already begun in Ridgeland Dist. 122 with calendars available to help parents prepare their children for a smooth transition into the 2024-2025 school year.
The first day of school for Dist. 122 students will be Aug. 16, with a half-day from 8:50 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. for grades 1-5; and 8:15 to 11:30 a.m. for middle school students, grades 6-8.
The first day of kindergarten is Aug. 19, and Aug. 20 for preschool.
Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. We also suggest that you check the Dist. 122 calendar and your child’s school calendar (Columbus-Manor, Harnew, Kolb, Lieb and Simmons Middle School) for conferences, open houses, meetings, exams, early dismissals, athletic and other school events.

Aug. 16 -The first day of school will be a half-day from 8:50 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. for grades 1-5; and 8:15 to 11:30 a.m. for middle school students, grades 6-8.

Sept. 2 - Labor Day, no school
Sept. 13 - K-8 half day
Oct. 11 - No school, parent-teacher conferences 9 a.m. to noon
Oct. 14 - Indigenous People Day, no school
Oct. 31 - Teacher Institute, no student attendance
Nov. 5 - Presidential Election Day, no school
Nov. 8 - Preschool non-attendance day
Nov. 25 - Nov. 26 - Preschool non-attendance day
Nov. 27-Nov. 29 - Thanksgiving Break
Dec. 23-Jan. 3 - Winter Break
Jan. 6 - School resumes
Jan. 17 - Preschool non-attendance, K-8 half-day
Jan. 20 - Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday, no school
Feb. 14 - Pre-school non-attendance, K-8 half-day
Feb. 17 - Presidents Day, no school
March 24 - March 31 - Spring Break
April 1 - Consolidated General Election, no school
April 2 - School resumes
April 18 and April 21 - No school
May 9 - Preschool non-attendance
