OAK LAWN, IL – The Village of Oak Lawn will kick off Independence Day 2023 with a parade at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 1. A concert will immediately follow the parade on the village green with a concert by Anthem, which plays classic rock and beyond.

Local organizations and businesses are invited to bring a float, march, play music, carry balloons or banners, drive vintage cars, or dress up to commemorate our nation’s birthday. Registration forms can be found online on the village website.

This year's parade route has been changed to begin at 95th and 49th Avenue and proceed westbound on 95th Street to 55th Ct. Following the parade, head to the Village Green for more family fun in addition to the concert, a bouncy house, face painter, and balloon artist are among the activities for children. Local food vendors Smilin' Clyde's hot dogs and El Chavis Taquizas will also have food for sale. Don't forget to bring a blanket or lawn chair.

The parade line up will be staged at the Northwestern College /Fifth Third Bank campus located just west of 95th & Cicero. Confirmation of your participation and detailed information on your lineup number will be sent prior to the parade to your email or mailing address indicated on this form. Participating in the Oak Lawn Independence Day Parade is FREE,

Please remind your participants to hand out candy and to not throw candy from parade vehicles or as your participants are walking. All business entries must have a decorated vehicle—only one business vehicle per group. The APPLICATION DEADLINE to march in the 2023 Oak Lawn Independence Day parade is June 14. No late entries accepted. Applications will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Oak Lawn Park District fireworks display will begin at dusk on Tuesday, July 4th, at Richards High School, 106th Street and Central Avenue.
