Folliard named IHSA Class 3A Sectional Coach of the Year

Richards legend ranks 6th in state history for most wins at one school.

The Illinois Softball Coaches Association honored Richards High School varsity softball head coach Julie Folliard as IHSA Class 3A Sectional Coach of the Year last weekend. Coach received this award at the ISCA awards banquet last weekend (she appears with ISCA President Dwain Nance.)

A Richards legend, Coach Folliard has devoted 38 years to HLR softball (36 as head coach.) She ranks sixth all time in the state of Illinois for most career wins at one school, and seventh overall. Her career record is 752-339.

She has guided the Bulldogs to more than 10 conference championships, more than 10 IHSA Regional championship, four sectional finals, and three super sectionals. Last season she led Richards to the IHSA Sectional championship and a place in the Elite Eight.

She has been inducted into the Richards Athletic Hall of Fame and ISCA Hall of Fame and earned her place in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association 700 Victory Club.
