OAK LAWN, IL — Hoyne Savings Bank announced the promotion of Walter Healy to President of the longtime community bank that has served communities in the greater Chicago area — including Oak Lawn — since 1887. Healy joined Hoyne in 2022 as executive vice president of Commercial Lending to launch a commercial division for the bank.

Healy will succeed Hoyne's current President and CEO, Steven F. Rosenbaum, who has led the organization since 2017, the bank announced in a news release. Under Rosenbaum's leadership as president, he has been instrumental in managing the organization through multiple mergers and focusing on bank operations, the bank said in a news release. He will continue to serve as CEO of Hoyne Savings Bank and CEO and President of the bank's holding companies, Hoyne Financial Corporation and Hoyne Savings MHC.

In the role as president, Healy's dedication to community banking, knowledge of the banking industry, and passion for his community are key attributes of a successful, seasoned community bank leader poised for future growth, Prior to joining Hoyne Savings Bank, Healy served as President and CEO of Community Bank of Oak Park River Forest, a position he held for more than 15 years where he focused on providing high quality, individualized banking services for personal and commercial clients, the bank said.

"We know that banking has changed in the past two years with rising interest rates and inflationary concerns impacting individuals and businesses,” Healy said in the release. “I look forward to working with our team to offer a personalized, high-touch experience with localized decision-making to our clients because that is the essence of a community bank. Businesses and individuals need to know that Hoyne Savings Bank is where they should be banking.”

Along with spearheading the launch of the commercial banking division within the organization, Hoyne opened an office in Oak Park. In building out the commercial division of Hoyne, Healy moved quickly to appoint key members of the team, who include previous colleagues with tremendous experience and talent, to facilitate the expansion and growth of the product offerings, client services, and investment in technology.
