OAK LAWN, IL — Independence Day is fast approaching so it's time to find out where you can celebrate in and around Palos. Area events include fireworks, festivals and other Fourth of July fun.

June 27 to June 30
What: Party In The Park, Burbank
Where: Narragansett Park, 77th Street and Narragansett Ave.
When: Full carnival June 27 to June 30; fireworks blast off at 9 p.m. Saturday, July 29.

June 28
What: Evergreen Park Independence Day Parade and Fireworks
When: 6 p.m. for parade, 95th and Springfield; fireworks blast off at 9 p.m. at Duffy Park, 92nd Street Millard Ave.
June 29
What: Oak Lawn Independence Day Parade and Concert
When: 4 p.m. parade steps off down 95th Street; post parade concert 6 p.m. with Five Guys Named Moe on the village green, 95th Street and Raymond Avenue.

July 3
What: Palos Heights July 3 Festival
When: Inflatables and games for kids 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Memorial/Community Park, West College Drive. Gates reopen 5 p.m. for DJ, with fireworks blasting off at 9:15 p.m.
When: Stars and Stripes Forever, DJ, music and food trucks starting at 4; fireworks blast off 9 p.m.
Where: Commissioners Park, 8100 S. Beloit Ave.
What: Chicago Fire takes on the Philadelphia Union with fireworks to follow the game at dusk. Buy tickets.
When: 7:30 p.m.
Where: Soldier Field, 1410 Special Olympics Dr, Chicago
July 4
What: Oak Lawn 2024 Fourth of July Fireworks
When: 9:15 p.m.
Where: Richards High School, 107th Street and Central Ave.
What: Haunted Trails July 4th Unlimited Attractions
Where: Haunted Trails Family Entertainment Center, 7759 S. Harlem Ave., Burbank
When: Noon to 3 p.m.
What: 4th on 53rd Parade and Festival
Where: 54th Avenue, south to South Lake Park Avenue, easeat on 55th Street to Hyde Park Avenue north 53rd Street west ending at Nichols Parkm 1355 E. 53rd Street.
When: Thursday, July 4, parade 11 a.m., with a free fest to follow from noon to 3 p.m., featuring performances, games, bouncy houses, face painting, petting zoo, magician and more.
July 5
What: USA Rugby vs. Romania in a historic international rugby match.
Where: SeatGeek Stadium, 7000 S. Harlem Ave., Bridgeview
When: 7 p.m. July 5. A post-match fireworks display will follow immediately after the game. Buy tickets.
