Oak Lawn Chef Tony Selvaggio Dies At 76

Vistation for retired chef Tony Selvaggio will take place Sunday, April 28, with a Mass set for Monday, April 29.

OAK LAWN, IL — Tony Selvaggio, a retired chef died April 24 of natural causes. He was 76.

Born in Bari, Italy on March 19, 1948, Tony immigrated to the United States when he was 20. He married the love of his life, Angie Gilardi-Selvaggio, who co-owned La Cucina di Angelina near 87th Street and Central Avenue in Oak Lawn.

Tony had an unwavering love for his family, traveling, walking, cooking and especially the family dog, Sabino. In addition to his beloved wife of 34 years, he was a devoted and loved father of Nicole Angela Selvaggio, and best friend of Gino Nuccio. Tony was a dear brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many.

Visitation will take place Sunday, April 28, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Beverly-Ridge Funeral Home, 10415 S. Kedzie Ave., Chicago. The funeral will be held at 10:15 a.m. Monday, April 29, from Beverly-Ridge to St. Linus Church, with Mass at 11 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
