OAK LAWN, IL — Leave the porch light and come join Oak Lawn’s first responders in celebrating National Night Out, Tuesday, Aug. 6. The annual public safety event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. behind Oak Lawn Village Hall, 9466 S. Raymond Ave.

New this year, the public safety event will open a half-hour early at 5:30 p.m. for children with special needs, courtesy of the Oak Lawn detention officers.

Just wanted to inform you we are having a sensory sensitive half hour before the event for children with special needs for National Night Out at the Village of oak lawn.

National Night Out falls on the first Tuesday in August and is celebrated across the country and provides a great opportunity to bring police, fire and neighbors together to promote community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie, making Oak Lawn neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

  • Hot dogs and popcorn for sale by local Boy Scout Troop #596
  • Special appearances by Paw Patrol’s Chase and Marshall and so much more!

Since the first National Night Out in 1984, more than 38 million neighbors in 16,000 communities throughout the nation will hold some type of event promoting community building and public safety.
