Over 70 Vehicles Found Vandalized In Oak Lawn 'Mass Graffiti Incident'

OAK LAWN, IL — Over 70 vehicles were found vandalized early Sunday morning in what Oak Lawn police are describing as a “mass graffiti incident.” Oak Lawn police have released surveillance images of a person of interest believed to be involved and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

Residents woke up Sunday to discover that their vehicles were vandalized with spray paint overnight. The purported vandal targeted the area between Cicero Avenue and Laramie Avenue, from 107th Street to 111th Street, police said. Many of the vehicles had “BLM” or “crack” spray-painted on them.

The lone person of interest, who was on foot, was captured on home security cameras, police said. He appears to be a white male, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, gray sweatpants, brown boots and a black backpack.

Detectives have been out canvassing for additional victims and any video that residents may have to help them identify the person.
