Richards High School senior Julia Niemeyer this week signed a National Letter of Intent with the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Julia, a three-sport athlete at Richards, will compete in track for the Mavericks.

Last spring Julia qualified for the IHSA state track finals by winning the sectional championship in long jump.

Last summer while competing for the Illinois Lightning Youth Track Club she also qualified for the AAU Junior Olympics in Heptathlon by taking second in her age group at regionals.
