The varsity girls tennis team from Richards High School started their IHSA Sectional with some historic achievements last weekend.
Meghan McSweeney qualified in singles for the IHSA state finals at the Sandburg sectional. It's the second year in a row Meghan will compete at state.
Also, Julie Casey and Violet McIntyre qualified in doubles for the IHSA state finals. This is the first time Richards has qualified a doubles team for state since Katie Crowe and Pam Salamone placed 3rd in Sectionals in 1999.
