Shell Casings Found After 2 Disturbances On Same Block

OAK LAWN, IL — Officers responded to two disturbances on the same block hours apart over an ongoing dispute with a homeowner, Oak Lawn police said.

Police were dispatched to the 6600 block of West 87th Street Wednesday evening. When officers arrived they observed that a group of people were now separated. Officers determined that a group of adults and juveniles came to confront the homeowner about their disagreement.

The homeowner and another person were beaten up during the confrontation. The adults and teens were arrested and transported to the Oak Lawn police station, where they were cited and released.

Officers to the same returned e block after midnight Thursday where several neighbors called 911 to report shots being fired. There were no injuries, but a vehicle was hit by gunfire. Multiple shell casings were recovered.
