St. Albert the Great School students win St. Laurence High School 7th Grade Math Competition

St. Laurence High School gathered 7th grade students for their annual 7th Grade Math Contest on February 17th. Teams from across the Chicagoland area gathered to showcase their mathematical knowledge in various events, and the competition was fierce.

Among the standout performances, St. Albert the Great Catholic School emerged as the overall winner, taking home first place in all three team competitions: Overall team, Relay team, and Combined team test. The winning team, composed of Jake Komperda, Antonio, Natalia Kwak, and Camila Contreras, demonstrated exceptional teamwork and problem-solving skills throughout the contest.

Jake Komperda also earned individual recognition, securing second place in the individual competition. His dedication and talent were evident as he tackled challenging math problems with precision and speed. Ms. Munoz, 7th grade math teacher at St. Albert the Great School said, “I am very proud of the St. Albert's team! We spent many hours after school practicing for this competition and I am glad their hard work paid off.” Students at St. Albert the Great use i-ready Mathematics which is an online custom math curriculum that provides students of all ages with differentiated instruction and supports them on their individual paths to success.
