Standout Performances Recognized At Oak Lawn Spring Sports Awards

Standout performances by Oak Lawn Community High School student athletes were recognized at the Spring Sports Awards Dinner.

OAK LAWN, IL — The high school spring sports season has come and gone, but there were many standout performances by Oak Lawn Community High School student athletes that made spring memorable. Here is a breakdown of the Spring Sports Awards Night winners.

In baseball, four players were selected to the South Suburban Conference Red all-conference team including Charlie Cizek, John Olejniczak, Justin Canvin, and Ivan Gonzalez. Cizek and Gonzalez were named as the team’s Most Valuable Players, and the Sportsmanship Award went to Jacob Canvin and Jack Dempsey.

Natalie Orozco and Danielle Dempsey were recognized as All-SSC Red selections in girls softball. Kasey Jackson earned the team MVP honors, and Raquel Enriquez was the Sportsmanship Award winner. The junior varsity team won the SSC Red Championship.

In girls soccer, the all-conference selections were Sinead Conroy, Ashley Marquez, and Bisan Aldeek. The team’s MVP was Marquez, and the Sportsmanship Award went to Aldeek. The Spartans were also recognized with the team SSC Red Sportsmanship Award. The junior varsity won the conference title.

Connor Lewis, Tristan Kramarz, and Marco Budzak were all named as boys volleyball all-conference selections. The team’s MVP was Conner Lewis, and the Sportsmanship Award winner was Ryan Rahacek.

In boys track and field, Fabian Soto was the team’s MVP, and Leo Chaves earned the Sportsmanship Award.

In girls track and field, Lamia Quinones earned all-conference honors in the 400-meter dash and was named as the team’s MVP. Olivia Bansley and Briana Torres shared the Sportsmanship Award.

The doubles team of Adrian Srmek and Christian Sweis earned all-conference honors at second doubles in boys tennis. The team’s MVP was Isaac Bayas, and Srmek took home the Sportsmanship Award.

Amaya Delgado was all-conference at tenth singles in boys badminton. The team’s MVP was Emily Moyer, and Sofia Barrera was the Sportsmanship Award winner.
