Summer of STEAM in District 218

Free MVCC camps for future nurses, doctors, engineers, programmers . . .

The amazing series of STEAM Camps for elementary school students offered by District 218 and Moraine Valley Community College continues this week with rising fourth graders.

Computer science Professor Larry Langellier and his daughter, Lexi (also a teacher at MVCC) lead the camps as they have for the better part of a decade.

This year, due to construction projects at Eisenhower and Shepard high schools, Richards hosts all STEAM camps. Lots of coding today -- both writing lines and learning to program WeDo Robots, a Lego educational platform.

These FREE camps have become a staple for future chemists, programmers, doctors, nurses, actuaries, and engineers -- after this week, District 218 will host three more camps (they're all full).
