Car Stolen From Oak Park Gas Pump; Woman Attempts Car Theft: OPPD

Oak Park police crime reports also said a suspect tried to take a red snow blower from inside a Porsche, but couldn't fit it around the car.

OAK PARK, IL — Members of the Oak Park Police Department responded to the following recent crime reports:

Attempted motor vehicle theft

The Oak Park Police Department reported an attempted car theft took place at 8:12 a.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Woodbine. According to police, the suspect was driving a red Jeep Grand Cherokee, and rear-ended a car being driven by a male from Chicago. The victim and the suspect, who is described as 20-year-old woman between 5 feet, 1 inches and 5 feet, 3 inches tall, medium complexion, wearing a blue surgical mask, pink sports bra, light gray hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants, both stopped to check for damage, when the suspect got inside the victim's car and tried to drive away. The victim got the suspect out of his car, and she then got in the jeep, which was occupied by an unknown male.

Warrant arrest

Oak Park police reported that Kevin D. Adams, from the 400 block of Walnut in Maywood, was stopped by police at 1:53 a.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of Washington, and a name check revealed he was wanted on a warrant out of Will County for accusations of domestic battery involving a victim from Illinois.

Motor vehicle theft

Oak Park police reported that a Highland Park resident's white 2017 Toyota Highlander was taken while it was parked at pump 4 at the BP gas station in the 500 block of S. Austin Blvd. at 11:27 a.m. Wednesday.

Burglary

Oak Park police reported a male suspect, described as 6 feet tall, thin, and wearing dark colored clothes, was seen via video surveillance using an unlocked side service door to get inside someone's garage in the 400 block of N. Grove Avenue between 4:12 a.m. and 6:12 a.m. Wednesday. Once inside, the suspect got into the victim's silver 2013 Porsche and ransacked the inside. Police added that the suspect then tried to remove the victim's red snow blower from inside, but couldn't fit it around the car.
