Chicago Bears' Cole Kmet To Visit Orland Park Smashburger

The football tight end will be at the newly opened location on Saturday, Dec. 18 to hand out 'swag bags' and take pictures with customers.

ORLAND PARK, IL — Orland Park residents can get a bear-sized deal at Smashburger this weekend as the company announced Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet will be greeting guests at the new location Saturday.

Kmet will be at the newly opened 15061 South La Grange Road burger restaurant Saturday, Dec. 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. During that time, customers will receive a bag of branded gifts in addition to being able to take a photo with the Bears player.

Kmet, 22, is an Illinois native from Lake Barrington who was drafted by the Chicago Bears in 2020.

The American food classic announced its grand opening in Orland Park on Dec. 9. Its addition marked the fifth chain location in Illinois with restaurants soon to pop up in Naperville and Oak Brook, a representative for the fast food chain told Patch.

On the weekend of Kmet's visit, $1 from each "Double Smash Burger" sold will be donated to the Bridge Teen Center. Other deals and coupons will be announced throughout the company's first few weeks, Smashburger representatives said.

The restaurant is complete with indoor seating and offers both take-out and dine-in. Curbside pickup is also available. Until Dec. 24, Smashburger delivery will be free through the mobile app or food delivery services.
