ORLAND PARK, IL — The Orland Park Police Department’s Thanksgiving traffic safety campaign resulted in a number of local drivers receiving traffic citations, namely for speeding, the Orland Park Police Department announced on Wednesday.

The effort by local officers was conducted between Nov. 17-27 and was done in conjunction with local and state law enforcement agencies as a reminder for drivers to wear seatbelts and to drive sober. The “Click It or Ticket” and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” mobilization was a collaborative effort conducted by Orland Park Police Officers and other state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois to reduce highway fatalities during the holiday season.

As a result of the campaign, the Orland Park Police Department administered the following citations to local drivers.

As always, our goal is a safe community with safe drivers.”

The Thanksgiving enforcement effort was made possible by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation and is part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
