OSWEGO, IL — A second person has been charged in connection to an ongoing investigation into a Boulder Hill car hijacking that occurred in March, officials at the Kendall County Sheriff's Office said.

Edward Dampier, a 20-year-old man of Maple Lane in Hazel Crest, turned himself in to the sheriff's office on April 10, officials said. He is facing one count each of aggravated vehicular hijacking, vehicular hijacking, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and possession of a converted motor vehicle, all felonies.

Dampier is set to appear before a judge April 18 for a detention hearing, officials said.

The second arrest comes about three months after a car was stolen at gunpoint on Jan. 15 in the 0-100 block of Seneca Drive in the Boulder Hill neighborhood of unincorporated Kendall County. The vehicle had been posted for sale on an online marketplace when someone contacted the seller to make arrangements to see the car, then brandished guns and took the car, Patch reported.

The car was later recovered in Lake County, Indiana, located just across the border with Illinois. No injuries were reported in the incident, officials said.

About a week into the investigation, Ronnell Binion, a 21-year-old of 178th Place in Country Club Hills, was charged in late January with one count each of aggravated vehicular hijacking, vehicular hijacking and possession of a stolen motor vehicle in connection to the investigation.

Binion's next court date is set for April 24.
