American Music Institute NEW Faculty Spotlight...

Amelia Merriman (piano/voice/winds) - completed her Master of Musical Arts at the Yale School of Music in Oboe Performance & Secondary Vocal Performance where she also received her Master of Music. She received her Bachelor of Music and Certificate in Music Business from the University of Georgia. Over the last seven years, Ms. Amelia has enjoyed teaching music professionally.

Cheryl Boyle (flute/piano/voice/guitar) - earned her BA in Music with a "minor" in English Language and Literature from Benedictine University and a master's degree in Literature (MALit) from Northwestern University. Her primary instruments are flute, piano, guitar, and voice and her ensemble work includes choral, orchestra, and band.

Dylan Barnett (guitar/ukulele/ piano) - a Chicago-native, who graduated from DePaul University School of Music with a BA in Jazz Studies. He can be found in surrounding suburbs performing jazz music in local restaurants, and art galleries.

Emily Munn-Wood (cello/bass) - a cellist based in Chicago, who received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Master of Music degree from DePaul University. She also is an active freelancer in the Midwest and is a member of the Peoria Symphony Orchestra.

Julia Evans (violin/viola/piano) - violinist from New York City, completed her Undergraduate degree in Violin Performance at the Mannes College of Music in 2002 and then her Masters in Performance at NYU in 2004. Since 2005, Mrs Evans has been an active performer in various orchestras, chamber music groups, and on Broadway.

Noe Mina (brass/piano) - a brass/piano performer and teacher who received his BM from Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Jazz Trumpet Performance on a Presidential Scholarship Award. He participated in All-State Ensembles for three years as well as placing first chair in the National Competition – Jazz Band of America.

Peter Deal (brass/piano) - received his Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance from University of Illinois School, and Master of Music in Trombone Performance from Bowling Green State University. Peter was the second trombonist with the Adrian Symphony Orchestra and performed for many orchestras and symphonies. Peter is currently a principal member of the Chicago Metropolitan Brass Ensemble.
