Armed Robbery In Oswego: Police

Two men with handguns reportedly stole money from a business

A business on the 2900 block of Route 34 was robbed by two men armed with handguns on Monday night, according to an Oswego Police press release. "Employees reported that two men, wearing ski masks and armed with handguns, entered the business and demanded money," according to police. The incident occurred around 8:45 p.m., and the suspects left with an undisclosed amount of currency, police said. Witnesses were not sure if the suspects fled on foot or in a vehicle. The suspects were described as black males, wearing black hoodies with jeans and black ski masks. One was approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall to 6 feet tall, age late 20s to 30s, and the other was approximately 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 5 inches tall, 16 to 18 years of age, according to police.

Local resident Lindsey Wallwin said that she saw eight or nine police cars around the Gamestop store in the Oswego Commons shopping center. Wallwin, 24, said officers had cordoned off the area and had a K9 unit that appeared to be searching the area. The adjacent T-Mobile store appeared to closed, according to Wallin. In a phone interview with Patch, Wallwin said this type of crime was rare in Oswego and it made her nervous.
