Budlong Southern Kitchen Coming To Former Dairy Barn Space: Report

OSWEGO, IL — The Budlong Southern Chicken, a popular Nashville-inspired sandwich chain, is coming to Oswego, the company said.

The Budlong lists an Oswego location as "coming soon" in its bio on Instagram, @thebudlong. So far, its website doesn't give any information about the opening.

According to reports from Shaw Local, the restaurant will move into the downtown Oswego building that formerly housed the Dairy Barn. Craveworthy Brands, the parent company of Krafted Burger + Tap with locations in Bolingbrook and Elmhurst, among other restaurants, is leasing the building, according to the outlet.

Dairy Barn, which first opened in March 2022, closed about a year later when owners announced in April 2022 that the parent company, Turn2, LLC, was dissolved after one of the partners had to step away for "personal reasons," Patch reported. The ice cream parlor was built on the site of the longtime home of Dairy Hut.

Until the Oswego location opens, The Budlong Southern Chicken can also be found at Oakbrook Center Mall, at Urban Space Food Hall in the Loop and in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood.
