Cat Rescued From Car Motor: Oswego Police

Oswego officers were called after a driver heard meowing coming from a car but couldn't find a cat anywhere.

OSWEGO, IL — A cat was rescued from a car motor Wednesday after the driver heard meowing but couldn't find the animal, police said.

According to a Facebook post from the Oswego Police Department, Community Service Officers Aguirre and Arp along with Officer Stephan Bailey responded after the driver called to report the sounds. When police arrived, they located the cat in the engine compartment.

The cat was taken to the Kendall County Animal Control after it was rescued.

"Even though some people might find this a-mew-sing, cats can easily climb up and hide in the engine area," officials wrote in the post.

Police suggest that people who live in areas with strays should tap or bang on the hood of a car before starting it.
