Demise Of Man In 30s Brings Kendall Co. COVID-19 Death Toll To 81

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The Kendall County Health Department reported the death of a man in his 30s on Monday, bringing the total coronavirus death toll in the county to 81. According to the statement from the department, he died of health complexities.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends during this difficult time," health department officials said in the statement.

The county also saw 70 new coronavirus cases on Monday and there are currently 10,682 cases with 5,722 in recovery. People between the ages of 20-49 make up the majority of COVID-19 cases in Kendall County, according to recent data from the health department.

The positivity rate in the county has been decreasing steadily and as of Friday, it was at 9.9 percent, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. However, the number of new cases each week per 100,000 people is still at a warning level. It is at 256 cases as of Friday and the target is 50 or fewer.
