District 308 Superintendent Approved For New 5-Year Contract

The Board of Education unanimously voted to solidify the new agreement with Superintendent Andalib Khelghati​ through 2029.

OSWEGO, IL — The current superintendent for Oswego Community Unit School District 308 was approved for a new five-year, performance-based contract.

The Board of Education unanimously voted Monday to solidify the new agreement with Andalib Khelghati for July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2029. Hired in 2023, the superintendent was first brought in on a contract set to expire in 2026.

"The energy and collaboration we’re seeing across the district is incredible," Board President Mrs. LaTonya Simelto said in a statement. "Under Dr. Khelghati's leadership, changes have led to responsible planning for sustainability and growth, ensuring our district is a safe and inviting place for all students and staff to thrive. Our Board is excited to extend our agreement with Superintendent Dr. Khelghati, and we are eager to see the positive momentum continue for several years to come."

The new agreement outlines numerous goals grounded in the district's foundation practices of Effective Systems and Teams, Equity and Rightful Presence, and High-Quality Instruction. According to a news release, the "alignment creates coherence and guidance across the district and outlines how the needs of [District 308] students are best met."

"I am so honored; thank you for your trust and confidence in my leadership and the team that has come together — we're just getting started!" Khelghati said in a statement.
