Fire In Oswego East Water Foundation System Prompts Evacuation: D308

The Oswego Fire Department responded to the high school "almost immediately" to put out the small fire, officials said.

OSWEGO, IL — A fire alarm went off Monday at Oswego East High School after a fire started in a water foundation compressor, officials said.

Students were safe, having evacuated while the school maintenance team responded "quickly and effectively." Oswego firefighters arrived "almost immediately" to put out the fire, according to an email sent to parents.

"We got students back to their 6th hour class, and students who had lunch 6th hour were allowed time to eat," Principal Laura Pastirik-Bankowski wrote in the message.
