Jewel-Osco, Meijer: Easter Grocery Store Hours In Oswego

Most pharmacies in Oswego will remain open on the Sunday holiday as some stores will be closed.

OSWEGO, IL — Easter Sunday has often created some last-minute meal preps, and many of the most popular grocery stores in and near Oswego will be open on Sunday.

Here are a few of Oswego's local grocery stores and their Easter hours:

  • Jewel-Osco, 2540 U.S. Hwy 30, Store: 6 a.m. to 12 a.m., Pharmacy: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Jewel-Osco, 3795 Orchard Rd., Store: 6 a.m. to 12 a.m., Pharmacy: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Meijer, 2700 Route 34, Store: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Pharmacy: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Walmart, 2300 Route 34, Store 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Pharmacy 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

National chains are varied in their opening plans for the holiday celebrated across Christian faiths. At least 38 chain stores plan to close for Easter, with at least 23 opening for at least a part of it, according to a list from the coupon company RetailMeNot.

In Oswego, these are among the stores that will be closed on Sunday:

  • Fruitful Yield, 1124 Douglas Rd
  • Target, 3020 Route 34
  • Kohl's, 2500 Route 34

Pharmacy stores with locations all over the country — such as CVS, Duane Reade and Walgreens — will largely be open for their regular Sunday business hours. These Oswego locations will be open for regular hours:

  • Walgreens, 410 Chicago Rd., Store: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Pharmacy: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Walgreens, 3401 Orchard Rd., Store: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Pharmacy: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Customers should check hours of other locations in Oswego and surrounding communities.

Although the coronavirus vaccine rollout continues and many states are lifting pandemic-related restrictions, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention still urges people to limit grocery trips and use curbside pickup or delivery options when possible to limit the virus's spread.
