More Details About Oswego Hit-And-Run Crash With Pedestrian Revealed

Oswego police released additional information about the April 2 hit-and-run crash that remains under investigation.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego police revealed additional information about the car involved in the April 2 hit-and-run crash that left a 68-year-old woman injured.

Detectives reviewed new surveillance footage of the crash that occurred on Mill Road around 6:45 a.m. last Tuesday and determined the car had two working headlights. Police originally said the car, whose make and model continue to be unknown due to too-grainy footage, had a burned-out left headlight.

The woman was struck while attempting to cross Mill Road at Lynx Lane. She was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Patch reported.

The car that hit her had been turning left onto Mill Road from northbound Washington Street, police said. The car did not stop and continued westbound on Mill Road.

In an updated news release, police urged the driver to turn themselves in. Officials also continue to ask anyone with information about the incident to call Oswego police at 630-551-7300 or submit a tip through the department's new tip line, which can also provide anonymity.
