New Fitness Center To Open In Oswego's Long-Vacant Dominick's Property

The Route 34 property has been vacant for almost 10 years — it was tied up due to a leasing agreement, officials said.

The former Dominick's property, at 3010 Route 34, which has also been seasonally occupied by Halloween stores, will turn into a fitness center.

OSWEGO, IL — A new gym will be built in the long-vacant Dominick's property on Route 34.

VASA Fitness will do a complete remodel of the interior and exterior of the building, at 3010 Route 34, now that the Village Board approved an amendment to the planned unit development during its Tuesday meeting.

Located in the Oswego Commons shopping center, the 65,636-square-foot property has been vacant for almost 10 years — it was tied up due to a leasing agreement, village officials said. VASA is now expected to obtain permits and begin the $4 million renovation.
