Obituary: Roy M. Lundstrom

Navy veteran of World War II worked as a printing engraver and for Palos Heights School District #128.

Roy Manfred Lundstrom, age 90, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully, Friday, August 17, 2018 at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born April 19, 1928 in Chicago, he was the son of the late Manfred L. and Charlotte (nee Anderson) Lundstrom. He married the love of his life, Beverly Marguerite (nee Bradley) Lundstrom, and she preceded him in death June 17, 2016 following 61 years of marriage. His sister, Elsie Dabrowski also preceded him in death.

Roy was a proud veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II. He worked 30 years as a photo engraving finisher in the printing industry, and retired from Palos Heights School District #128.

He was the beloved father of Gregory (Denise) Lundstrom, Carol (Keith) Wyrick and Donna (Michael) Schout. Several devoted grandchildren also survive.

Visitation for Roy Lundstrom will be held Monday, August 20, 2018 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to Holy Family Catholic Church in Shorewood, IL, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
