OSWEGO, IL — Oswego Community Unit School District 308 received a $2,000 grant from Kohl's to buy clothes for children in need, officials said Thursday.

Zaklina "Jackie" Slakeska, the store manager of Kohl's at 2500 Route 34, helped District 308 secure the grant. Employees can nominate area organizations for store credit using the company's Associates in Action program through which Kohl's has donated more than $100 million in corporate grants.

"When this grant application came available, it was obvious to us that we would submit the school district because we knew it would be going back to a great cause, helping families with our community," Slakeska said in a statement.
