Oswego Man Found Illegally In Possession Of Firearm: Police

The man was brought into custody on several possession of firearm charges after police were called to a residence for a domestic incident.

OSWEGO, IL — An Oswego man was found illegally in possession of a firearm when police responded to a residence for an armed threatening call, officials said.

Police were dispatched at about 9:21 p.m. Saturday to the 100 block of Madison Street for what officers determined to be a verbal domestic incident. During the investigation, 56-year-old Rex C. Flores was found in possession of a firearm, according to a Tuesday morning news release.

The Kendall County State's Attorney's Office approved multiple charges against Flores, including unlawful use or possession of a weapon by a felon, possession of a firearm without having a valid Firearm Owner's Identification card as well as possession of ammunition without a FOID.

The man, of the 100 block of North Madison Street, was arrested and taken to the Kendall County jail. He was released from custody following a pre-trial hearing on April 8, and his next court appearance is scheduled for May 8.
