Oswego Native Hired As New Assistant Village Administrator

Among her duties, Jean Bueche will work with other departments on major projects, including Oswego's connection to Lake Michigan water.

OSWEGO, IL — An Oswego native has been brought on board to serve as the village's new assistant village administrator.

Jean Bueche will officially begin her new role on Dec. 18. She most recently served as a human resources director for the Village of Schaumburg. Her 10 years of experience in the public also includes serving as a management analyst and administrative services coordinator for the Village of Hinsdale.

"We are very excited to welcome Jean to this vital role," Village President Ryan Kauffman said in a statement. "Her skills, experience and hometown spirit will enhance our hard-working team."

In the position, she will serve on the village's management team and collaborate with other departments on major projects, including the widening of Wolf's Crossing Road and Oswego's connection to Lake Michigan water.

"I am honored and humbled to have been chosen as the next assistant village administrator for Oswego," Bueche said in a statement. "I look forward to working with the exceptional staff, Village Board and the community."

She will also oversee the village's community relations, purchasing and human resources, including labor negotiations.

Bueche holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice with a minor in political science from Illinois State University and a master's degree in public administration from Northern Illinois University. She interned with the Oswego Police Department during her undergraduate studies.
