Oswego Week Ahead Weather: Elevated Thunderstorm Risk

Storms could bring penny-sized hail, according to a Hazardous Weather Outlook by the National Weather Service.

OSWEGO, IL -- There will be a chance of storms throughout the week, with a few days of sun peeking through. Though it will be stormy, the high temperatures will stay comfortably in the 70's and 80's, with low temperatures in the 50's and 60's.

The National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook lasting through the week warning of an elevated thunderstorm risk. It will be downgraded to a limited thunderstorm risk for the weekend.

On Monday, the warning says, "scattered thunderstorms are likely to increase in coverage this afternoon. Severe weather is not expected, however the stronger storms could produce hail to the size of pennies, gusty winds to 35 or 40 mph, and brief heavy downpours."
