OSWEGO, IL — This Sunday marks the day for the family-favorite Halloween Drive-Around Scavenger Hunt in Oswego.

The event, presented by the Learning Experience, will begin at noon at Village Hall, 100 Parkers Mill, and run until about 2:30 p.m. All proceeds raised — it costs $20 per team in advance or $25 day-of to participate — will benefit the Kendall County Community Food Pantry.

During the two-plus hours, families will work as a team to solve clues and pick up treats as they drive to historic landmarks, parks and businesses throughout the village. The team that solves all clues first, or the team that solves the most clues within two hours, will be awarded a gift certificate, officials said.

Families are encouraged to wear costumes and decorate their cars in a "spooky or silly Halloween theme." Prizes will be awarded to the best-dressed family and best-decorated vehicle.

If locals want to participate in the judging, they should arrive at Village Hall by 11:45 a.m. to sign up, organizers said.
