Pedestrian Struck In Hit-And-Run On Mill Road: Oswego Police

The car did not stop after crashing into a pedestrian at the intersection of Mill Road and Lynx Lane, according to police.

OSWEGO, IL — A pedestrian was hit by a car Tuesday morning while attempting to cross Mill Road at Lynx Lane in Oswego, and police say they are looking for information on the hit-and-run crash.

The 68-year-old Oswego woman was transported by paramedics to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after the crash that happened around 6:45 a.m.

A preliminary investigation by Oswego police determined that the woman was crossing the road to get to West Washington Street when she was struck by a car turning left onto Mill Road from northbound Washington, according to a news release. Police said the car did not stop and continued westbound on Mill Road.

Witnesses described the car as white with tinted windows and a burnt-out left headlight, according to police, who said the model and number of doors are unknown.

The investigation into the pedestrian-versus-car crash continues. Police are asking anyone with information or video surveillance footage to contact the Oswego Police Department at 630-551-7300. Information can also be provided to Kendall County Crime Stoppers at 630-553-5999, where information leading to an arrest can result in a cash award.
